Since 2016, MMG has protected the rights of migrant workers, women, children, and vulnerable communities along the Myanmar–Thailand border, through health services, legal protection, and safe migration awareness across Myawaddy District.
A Trusted Partner for Migrant Communities
Migrant workers, women, children, and vulnerable communities shall enjoy human dignity, justice, health, and basic rights equally, live in safe communities, and have access to legal protection and care.
To help migrant workers and their families build safe, dignified lives by giving them access to legal protection, health services, awareness programs, social protection, and emergency assistance.
The Migrants Monitoring Group (MMG) is a non-profit civil society organization dedicated to protecting the rights of migrant workers, women, children, and other vulnerable groups in the Myanmar–Thailand border area, and to promoting health, legal and social protection, and safe migration.
Since 2016, MMG has coordinated with government departments, civil society organizations, and development partners across Myawaddy District to respond directly to migrant workers' needs, and was formally registered in 2018 under the General Administration Department, Registration No. 5/005. MMG is recognized as a trusted partner among local authorities, community organizations, and international development agencies.
Fair Labor Standards - monitor and advocate for fair labor standards and workplace practices for migrant workers.
GBV Prevention & Response - prevent Gender-Based Violence and respond promptly and supportively when it occurs.
Health & HIV Awareness - promote health and HIV awareness, and support access to needed health services.
Anti-Trafficking - prevent and combat human trafficking along the border.
Community Capacity & Self-Reliance - build the capacity and self-reliance of migrant worker communities through education, partnership, and legal support.
Five Pillars, One Community
What Consistent Work Has Built
Established four community libraries in partnership with Save the Children.
Resolved labor rights, wage, and workplace disputes for migrant workers through Case Management with IOM and Safe Migration partners.
Delivered GBV and PSEA awareness campaigns with UN Women's Safe and Fair Project and WON Myanmar through the COVID-19 period (2019–2023).
Implemented a TB/HIV Project in Myawaddy Township (2024–present), covering screening, treatment referral, and community-based monitoring.
